Hearkening back to the splendor of King Louis the Fourteenth’s France, this chamber opera marshals personifications of the arts to promote peace over discord. William will be singing the role of “Painting” in this classic French Baroque piece, and will also be performing several works by Henry Purcell as a guest artist with Chicago’s renowned Vox 3 Collective (now celebrating their 10th anniversary season). William is excited to be the Tenor soloist for this free performance at the heart of Chicago’s Yuletide celebrations. Located right next to the popular Christkindlmarket in Chicago’s tallest church, bring in a hot chocolate to warm up with the Mozartian sounds of this Czech Mass. Handel’s Alexander’s Feast

William narrates the sumptuous scene of Alexander the Great’s victory feast over the Persian King Darius. A piece of many moods, Handel skillfully paints scenes of anger, love, fear, revenge, and lust as inspired by John Dryden’s poem. By Dryden’s telling, Music is the ultimate victor of the day, invoking St Cecilia (anachronistically)to rule over the great Greek Emperor.   William is thrilled to be returning to Handel Week in Oak Park, having performed the role of Septimius in a past production of Handel’s Theodora.
