Handel’s Alexander’s Feast

timotheusWilliam narrates the sumptuous scene of Alexander the Great’s victory feast over the Persian King Darius. A piece of many moods, Handel skillfully paints scenes of anger, love, fear, revenge, and lust as inspired by John Dryden’s poem. By Dryden’s telling, Music is the ultimate victor of the day, invoking St Cecilia (anachronistically)to rule over the great Greek Emperor.

William is thrilled to be returning to Handel Week in Oak Park, having performed the role of Septimius in a past production of Handel’s Theodora. Learn more about the offerings for Handel Week 2017 and purchase tickets here.
